Basskamp Records is a collection of friends - people who came together originally as housemates and bandmates and eventually became individual artists still connected by their music and friendship.
The original dwelling of the 5 semi-legendary members of Basskamp (whose names will remain anonymous) is still referred to as Basskamp - the name is an actual place. Not just an abstract idea, but a foundation, a home. This home (located somewhere in deep Ballard, WA) provided the shelter and inspiration for the people that have come to make up the Basskamp family. What started as playing music together evolved into experiencing life together. Eventually, they grew up and discovered their own individual voices artistically. Not only that, they had discovered that the differences between them had, instead of driving them apart, actually brought them more together, more appreciative of each other's talents and gifts.
This of course sparked a new direction for the collection to go in - a label to further all pursuits. Basskamp Records is just a stepping stone for more artistic growth. The artists represented are committed to pushing their limits and the limits of the music they make in the hope of finding more fertile pastures, more of the essence that is what we all call music.
